# How do I become a paid subscriber-member?

Color me dense, but in the FAQ’s, it says:

In the menu bar at the top of this (and other pages), all I see is

Under “Quick Links,” there is a link for “subscribed threads,” but that’s not what I’m looking for.
I found a place for buying a gift subscription for someone else, but not for oneself. What am I not seeing?

Go to your user CP. See under “misc” - there should be an option for you to subscribe.
Subscribed threads is something else - it just means you can keep tabs on the threads you want to.

Thank you- you reminded me to subscribe, actually! It didn’t seem right that I’d been visiting the Dope for that long and hadn’t paid dues. It’s why I also contribute to NPR - I use it!

I finally donated a fairly large amount to NPR this year, too. I mean I’ve always had the basic membership, but in truth, I’d go nuts during my long commute every day without NPR. I spend plenty of time here, too. 😉 Time to pony up.

Sometimes the title change hangs up in the system. It usually gets resolved after the system runs the subscription script overniught but I won’t make you wait, I went in and fixed it. Sorry for your inconvenience.
