I’ve been thinking of ditching the current one for “Maxie son of Sammie son of Henry.” How would I go about doing so? ---

I Emailed **Tuba** to ask permission to open a [User name change request thread in MPSIMS](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=353287) and then I gathered up 10 I liked and [created a voting thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=353804) in IMHO. When the results were in I emailed \*\*Tuba \*\* for the change and she made it happen today. Thanks again **Tuba**. I like it already. Jim ---

As I discovered today, make sure your email to TubaDiva is sent from the account you used to open your SDMB account, for verification. ---

I have a feeling that your desired username may be too long for the field (I might be wrong about this though). If I am right though, you could always just change your username to **Toast Museum**. ---
