How do I check if I have NET 6.0 on my PC?

Well, I linked to a general ESU page, but there’s options for Educators, business, and personal use as well. Assuming just personal use though:

End of support for Windows 10, Windows 8.1, and Windows 7 | Microsoft Windows

If you need more time before moving to a Copilot+ PC or other new Windows 11 device, a one-year Extended Security Updates (ESU) program for $30 USD will help protect your Windows 10 device. Enrollment for this program will open in 2025.

ESU is a paid program that will entitle enrolled PCs to receive Critical and Important security updates after support for Windows 10 ends. The program will provide Critical and Important security updates but will not provide other types of updates or technical support.

So that would give the OP roughly 22 months at this point to upgrade or consider another option including cloud-based computing or a new PC.

Hmm, that’s new and not something they have offered for Win 7 or 8 EOL. I suspect it’s due to the stringent hardware requirements for 11 that didn’t exist for the older version.

I agree - there’s a ton of fully functional Windows 10 boxes (like my laptop) which is still good for gaming, but didn’t meet the requirements for the system update.

And one can speculate beyond the bounds of an answered FQ question as to various reasons that Windows would be forcing the end of life on a fully working and functional system, and a lot of their concurrent marketing of Virtual Windows 11 boxes in the cloud.
