# How do I convince my doctor to renew the Vicodin?

What’s your experience been with using this sort of thing for _fever_ relief? I’d heard of this when the kids were young, and may have done so with them once or twice. Then when I got the flu (or its bastard half-brother, judging by the fact that I wasn’t actively _praying_ for death but would merely have welcomed it if it happened to go that way), I did the doubling-up to try to keep the fever under control one day. May or may not have helped, but at least I wasn’t ODing on either of the medications.

It’s done, but there’s not good evidence (of which I am aware) that it’s beneficial. Definitely the risk of mixing the meds up and giving too much of one type too close together goes way up.

So the thread was bumped by a spammer, and the post has since been deleted, but I’m curious: do the board admins report things like that to the authorities? (Possibly a question for ATMB but I thought I’d post here first).
