# How do I delete a virtual drive?

I’m on Windows XP home edition. I use Alcohol 120% to burn CD images and it automatically creates a virtual drive. I had to re-install it and when it loaded up the first time, it created another virtual drive without getting rid of the original.

It’s detecting the original virtual drive(G:) as a physical drive for some reason and has created I: as the new virtual drive.

It’s really more of an annoyance than anything else, but I’d like to resolve it.

Won’t swear this will work, but you might try Disk Management:[ul]  
[li]Control Panel[/li][li]Performance and Maintenance[/li][li]Administrative Tools[/li][li]Computer Management[/li][li]Disk Management[/li][/ul]I don’t have any virtual drives at the moment, but I recall that I used this to assign a specific letter to my flash drive.

Please try the following:

1. Open Alcohol, and then select **File** \> **Options**.

2. In the Options dialog box, select Virtual Drive from the left pane.

3. From the Number of Virtual Drives drop-down list, select 0.

That ought to work.

I bet **OttoDaFe** ’s suggestion will work too.
