How do I rename a link to insert into the body of a post. Often I see a post with text something like, "to see this go ‘here’ ".

If you wanted to post a link to, say, the [Straight Dope Message Board](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/), you’d do it as follows:

{url=“[http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/)”}Straight Dope Message Board{/url}

but using “[” and “]” in place of the “{” and “}”

vB codes explained:

[http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/index.php?action=bbcode](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/index.php?action=bbcode)

It’s a link out of the HTML section of the FAQ, which makes it a little hard to find.

Oh yeah, I think that images (and a few other vB codes) have been disabled.
