How do I edit the "fact box" in Wikipedia?

I edited so much I missed the edit window. This highly uninformed, short and ill written page contained nothing about the “controversal” things about Jung, as the infamous Nazi accusations etc., that would otherwise create a motivation for some to keep the information “protected”. So in short, I don’t Think that that is the reason. – I’m starting to suspect that Wikipeida is perhaps trying out a new technical solution for “bio data” that works under other restrictions, and that this particular page is one of the “betas”. Because it certainly seems that this “bio facts box” data is from some central repository rather than a certain page’s html.

Aha! Even though the spaces are blank, you can delete that entire blank box! I just tried it as an experiment, without saving the change.

Here’s what you can do:

  1. get the template for the infobox, by searching the Swedish Wikipedia for “Faktamall biografi WD”.

  2. copy that template into the Jung article, ahead of this funny blank one.

  3. enter all the information from the article into the template you’ve copied in, making the corrections you want to do

  4. delete the weird blank one.

Give that a try and see if it works.

That particular infobox is a special kind of template that takes information from another Mediawiki project, Wikidata. For more details on the template (Factual biographies, Wikidata) see here.

To edit the actual data, it’s probably best to do it using the “Redigera Wikidata” link at the bottom of the info box; that takes you to this page where you can edit the data for Carl: Carl Jung - Wikidata. That page is used by multiple language versions of Wikipedia, so if you add or change anything, be sure to add good citations.

You can also edit the blank parameters on the wiki page, and I believe they will override the Wikidata stuff.

Wow, thank you Northern Piper and Reply. I’m very busy at this point but as soon as I am able to dig into this I will check out your tips and inform you of the results. (In this new web browser I’m trying out right now, Brave [check it out!], I seem to be unable to mark text and hence cannot bold your user names. Perhaps the greate little Colibri will forgive. )
