How do I find a new home for my dog?

Good luck Jacob…hope ALL works out well…for you, the Dog, and your dad too.

When I got divorced a few years ago i had to give my beautiful rescued Siberian husky to my ex wife…not because I wanted to but because the dog (SkyBaby) deserved to live where she could have room to romp and play, not cramped into a metropolitan apartment for 10-12 hours a day w/ nobody home.

Hope all works out well,

Try posting signs at local dog parks, too. Good luck.

When my husband and I split up, we had 5 dogs and lived in the country with acreage. I took 2 of them (Boris and Natasha) with me when I moved into my apartment. They are/were small dogs - dachshunds. Boris passed on last month, but that is another thread. My ex kept the black lab, the JRT mix, and my collie/golden mix. He was able to re-home the JRT mix (Butters) with a neighbor and he is doing fine. The lab (Cody) passed away shortly after I left. When we sold our house, my ex had to move to an apartment, and I took in the collie/golden mix (Ginger).

Ginger is 10 years old and had lived outside since I brought her home from the animal shelter at appoximately 5 mos old. I didn’t really know what to expect from her when I brought her to my apartment. She adjusted phenomenally. She hasn’t had a single accident inside at all. She loves being an inside dog. When I take her out to potty, she goes and then wants to come right back inside. She has amazed me with her ability to adjust. The only problem we have is excessive shedding. No outfit is complete without a few dog hairs.

I hope you are able to re-home your faithful companion successfully, but if not, give him a chance with you. Good luck!
