All right, I figure you all have tackled some pretty big questions, now I need advice in being sneaky. I want to get my gf a ring, but I have no idea what size she is, hell, I don’t even know what sizes there are for rings. Any ideas on how to find this out using subtlety?

Oh if you wish to hazard a guess, she’s 5’6" any fairly skinny.

Take one of her other rings to the jeweler with you. They can figure out the size from that. Then, unless it’s already a “real” ring (that is, from a jewlery store and not a kiosk in the mall type ring) you can have her go back to the jeweler with you and get it resized if needed.

When she’s asleep, wrap a piece of string around the middle knuckle of the finger in question, and mark it off. Don’t pull the string tight, just lay it around the surface.

I’ve always heard that there is a high correllation between ring size and shoe size, ie if you wear a size 7 shoe, chances are you’ll wear a size 7 ring.

Any truth to this, or is it bunk?

But now I want to know if the shoe size/ring size thing holds.
