# How do I get a job as a spokesman?

“The company is cooperating fully.”-Bill Whitman, McDonald’s spokesman.

How do I get a job like this? I like speaking in public, feel very comfortable doing it, and can articulate well.

How does one go about finding a position as a spokesman?

I’m currently a junior, political science major who is planning on attending law school. I’m assuming a law degree might be beneficial since attorneys’ often serve as spokesman(or woman)?

Ronald Ziegler, President Nixon’s press secretary, started out as a tour guide at Disney World. I am with you, though, in thinking that it’s probably more common to start out as an attorney.

Not quite, **Earl** ; Ziegler worked at [Disneyland](http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/state/20030210-1956-cnsziegler-obit.html), not Disney World (which opened in 1971, while Ziegler was working in the White House).
