# How do I get my menu/task bar to the bottom again?

Well, I did it again – fat-fingered a buttom somewhere, now my task bar or menu bar or whatever it’s called is displayed up the left side of my computer screen instead of across the bottom – pain in the butt, and it takes forever to find anything there. How do I get it back to the bottom?

Click on it and drag it to the bottom.

:smack: I thought that was it – tried it, but it wouldn’t work. Finally, after getting your reply, I dragged all the way to the lower right corner. It worked.

If you have XP (and possibly some earlier versions, like 2k), you can right-click the taskbar and click “Lock the Taskbar” which will prevent any such problems in the future.
