They’re great seats. It’s too late to use StubHub, I’m in Manhattan so I’d prefer not having to go all the way out to Shea. Any ideas? ---

You’re in Manhattan so it’s too much trouble to go all the way out to Shea? Wow. I mean, baseball is not my thing, but I have come down from Albany to NYC for something I really wanted! As for the Mets tickets, have you just asked around? Coworkers maybe? ---

I’ll look into Craigslist. Thanks. Anaamika, I’m a Yankee fan. The only way I’ll ever go to Shea to actually watch a game is if its the World Series, and the Yankees are playing the Mets. ---

Too bad it only lasted 5. ---

I couldn’t sell the tickets via Craigslist, so I went to Shea. What a pain. I had 4 front row tickets (3rd base line) that I wanted to sell at the $50 face value. I wasn’t looking to make a profit, although I got them for free (but no one had any way of knowing this). As soon as I got there, I walked to an area where people were purchasing tickets. A security guard asked me why I was walking around. I told him that I had 4 front row tickets that I wanted to sell at face value. He told me that at that point, I could be handcuffed and arrested for admitting that I was scalping tickets. It didn’t matter that I wasn’t selling them at higher than face value. I decided that if I couldn’t sell them, I’d give them away to some kids who probably weren’t used to seeing a game from the front row. This guy was a jerk: “If you’re really going to give them away, give them to me.” He basically was assuming that I was lying. I told him that I’d rather give them away to some kids who would appreciate them more. He said that it just so happened that he knew 4 kids that could use them. I said that I’d be happy to meet them and hand them the tickets. His response: “Either give them to me, or get the hell back on the subway and make sure that I don’t see your face. I’ve got handcuffs that are just waiting for you.” So I dropped them on the ground and left. This guy clearly had it in for me. I wasn’t about to spend the weekend in jail. As I looked back, he picked them up and smiled to himself. In retrospect, I think I made a good decision. This guy was on the verge of putting me in the paddy wagon. But I’m still pretty damn angry about it. I understand that he really had no right to arrest me. But I didn’t want to have to explain that to some judge after a weekend in prison. I guess you have to pick and choose your battles.
