# How do I ignore facebook tag suggestions?

I have an old photo that I’d like to put some names to, but these are people that have no facebook presence. I just want to put stuff like “Willie B., Johnny Mac, Shirlene Mae,” etc. But I can’t get out of the facebook tag name suggestions without adding some extraneous stuff on the end. I’ve done this before and had no problems, but for some reason, I can’t get away from their suggestions consistently.

I think that if you type in the name you want and then hit ESC, the drop-down menu will disappear and the name you typed in will remain. Then press enter and Facebook will tag the photo without linking it to anyone.

This is also a useful way to tag someone who doesn’t mind being named but doesn’t want the picture to show up on their profile.
