# How do I link to a specific post?

There are times when I’d like to link to a poster’s specific post instead of just the page on which the post appears. A page can have many (49? 50?) posts and be VERY long and it can be difficult for others to find the post I’m referring to.

How do I find the URL for a specific post? (I did look for any thread that may have answered this question and couldn’t find it. And you’d think I’d know how to do this by now!)

I quote from the estimable **Alphagene** , responding to this question about a month ago (it’s on the first page of this forum, if you reset the range to be displayed – a thread titled “How do you pre-scroll a link?”
