# How do I recycle this office equipment?

I’ve recently bought a new printer, fax machine, and transcriber to replace equipment that works, but has issues that made it not worth it to repair (ie - printer needs a new roller, transcriber speed control doesn’t work). What do I do with these machines? I’ve thought of donating them, but I couldn’t do that in good conscience knowing they need some work. Forlorn little things, just sitting there on the floor until I can find them a home…

See if Freecycle has a group in your area. You can give these things away with a clear conscience if you are honest about their condition on Freecycle. Or you could just put them out by the side of the road and someone will take them.

My county has occasional hazardous waste disposals on the weekend where you simply drive up and drop off anything of that nature, including computer equipment. Perhaps yours does as well?

Honestly, I didn’t think we had a Freecycle here, but lo and behold, we do! Thanks for the tips, both of you. I’ll look into them both.
