How do I remove bats from under a deck?

Sweet, I’ve always wanted a little demon of my own.

Like I said I’m not worried at all about the bats except they are right next to the door meaning it’s that much easier for them to come in by mistake. Actually I want them around if they’ll take care of the bugs. Plus in a year or so when the new demon learns to walk, I’m sure she’ll get close to them, and they are at a height that even a two year old could reach up and touch the cute furry thing.

Will they really leave a place they know for a place they probably don’t know exists?

I guess I’ll have to pull out the bat signal to get them to move. FTR I’m all for bats, spiders, snakes, I’d just rather have them a bit further away.

Here’s a link to which critters gave rabies to humans. While the numbers are small, it’s overwhelmingly a bat thing. http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/dvrd/rabies/Professional/publications/Surveillance/Surveillance01/Table2-01.htm

And why do you suppose that is? Is it perhaps that bats outnumber all those other species combined? 20% of all mammals are bats. It’s no wonder most cases of rabies originate there. But that says nothing about the relative danger from any one bat. Most do no carry rabies.

1/5 of all mammals, or 1/5 of all mammal species? They aren’t the same thing.

You weigh the chance however you feel comfortable. I ain’t doin’ it. Particularly with a little baby in the house.

That goes without saying. So long as you don’t justify it with false assumptions. Everyone is entitled to their phobias.

No false assumptions here. However, I do detect a false sense of security in the thread.
