# How do i remove melted stuff from an Iron?

Not being a particulalrly domesticly minded man, my iron cleaning expertise is not up to much.

Does anyone have any advice on how to remove melted stuff from an Iron?

The method I use with my iron (which is _not_ non-stick) is to stand it (whilst cold) flat in a shallow bowl of cola for 30 mins. The sticky stuff then usually just peels off. 🙂

and for the record there appeared to be some kind of nylon-like stuff melted on it.

Nail polish remover and a brillo pad.
