# How do I search for a thread?

I want to search for a thread about posters we miss seeing, that was active fairly recently. But with the new formats I don’t know how. I do know the term I want to use, the username Eve.

If anyone can tell me how to do it I’d appreciate it.

The magnifying glass upper right of page takes you to the search function.

Use advanced search to put ‘Eve’ in the ‘posted by’ bar. The date part is glitchy. I haven’t been able to make it work.

I found that the problem was it didn’t work _the way I thought it obviously worked_  
Slow down, watch what it does, try data entry instead of clicking, or clicking instead of data entry.  
I can’t remember which way it was, except that re-trying the same wrong way added garbage to my search criteria that didn’t obviously look like garbage.

When _I_ started behaving the way the _board_ wanted, I found date entry wasn’t glitchy at all - just stupid.
