It has been reported, some time ago, that an execution had been carried by [a round from a mortar](http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/asia/northkorea/9630509/North-Korean-army-minister-executed-with-mortar-round.html). Actually fired from a mortar to land on the spot where the condemned man was standing. A creative idea, whether it actually happened or not. ---

On a more serious note, how certain can we be that all these reports from North Korea about executions being carried out in a highly unusual manner (eaten by dogs, shot with antiaircraft cannon, shot with mortar) are actually true? ---
