I wear prescription glasses 24/7, and I occasionally have reason to be carrying both my regular glasses and my prescription sunglasses with me. If I need to have both on me (short term—a few hours at most), the second pair is usually just tucked by one “arm” into my shirt. I generally forget about them after a few minutes walking around like that, which, surprisingly, has never led to disaster. ---

I’m nearsighted and I don’t need glasses up close. So at home, they sit in my medicine cabinet until I leave the house. At work, they sit on my desk, because I don’t need them there either. Heck, my vision isn’t completely horrible, so if I need to walk downstairs at work or in my apartment building, I don’t need them. But if I’m out and about, I wear them driving or walking down the street, etc. If I then go inside someone’s house, a restaurant, etc, I put them in my shirt pocket. If I don’t have a shirt pocket, then I’ll either hang them from the collar of my shirt or put them on the table near me. ---

I keep a glasses case in my computer bag and switch to my computer glasses to work. Generally speaking, I’m pretty close to “what is this ‘carry around’ of which you speak?” — aside from switching between pairs I have no need for a place to put them when they aren’t on my nose, since if I don’t have a pair on my nose I’m going to find it damn difficult to find them or anything else. I have an effective focal distance of between 2.5 inches and 7.5 inches with no glasses on. Things start getting pretty blurry after than a foot away and I feel pretty helpless if deprived of my glasses. ---

When I was in the AF, if you were on flight status, you could keep extra eyeglasses/sunglasses in a pouch that slid onto your web belt. It was a soft, black plastic case with a snap closure that had two slits in the back of it, where the belt threaded through. It was’t much wider than the belt itself, and looked neat and trim in place. Never could find the one I had and no place I sought out sold them. I made one from a snap closure case, and cut the slits myself. Ta Da! Before I finally solved the problem I had bought a leather(?) pouch at the dollar store that was designed to hand from a belt, and the pocket was just big enough to hold my glasses. The pouch was too long, and several times popped off as I was bending over. Grrrr… A whole dollar, WASTED!!! ---

How did you get from “sweaty back” to “effeminacy issue” then all the way over to shaving testicles? I thought I had stream of consciousness issues… I have used a back pack. In the summer it makes my back sweat. I didn’t like that, so I quit. In winter it’s not so bad, but still not my thing. A solution looking for a problem, in my case. But you go, guy. :rolleyes: ---
