How Do People Stand Working Assembly Lines?

Sorry for resurrecting this thread, but I’m looking to change jobs, and I want to work on an assembly line.

I went to university because I thought it what I was supposed to do, and I got a college degree because I thought it was what I was supposed to do. I’ve worked retail, worked as a court reporter, was hired as police officer, and now work as a clerk for a state government. Since I was around 16, I have hated life and hated all of my jobs, except for one. I’m 36 years old now and still hate every day of my life.

The one job I LOVED was data entry, working for King County Elections in the state of Washington, after I resigned as a King County Sheriff Deputy. I can type 100+ WPM, so I got the data entry job. I didn’t have to talk to anyone (LOVED THAT), and I just entered in voters’ data registration in the database, hour after hour, day after day. This was a temp job, and they needed help, so I was working 12 hours a day for 6 days a week. I loved it. We couldn’t listen to music, but I didn’t really care. I don’t listen to music normally anyways – I find it distracting.

I could go to work and shut down. Turn off my mind and not have to be in this shit reality I hate so much. It was the best job I ever had, and when I remember that data entry job where I didn’t have to think at all, my mouth salivates.

Because of this, assembly line jobs interest me VERY much. Seeing all these posts of people working on assembly lines (and making livings doing so?) makes me very envious. I was curious if anyone knows of decent paying assembly line jobs? Like if there is a specific location or specific company to pursue. I was contemplating Boeing, but I’m worried it will require too much thought. I just want to do the same motions, for hours a day, day after day, and be able to shut down and not think. Maybe there are better companies for this than others, though.
