I have never seen a post of a banning. I always click on “New Posts” to review the MB. ---

If it’s an established poster, there is usually an announcement posted as a locked thread in this forum. If it is just a sock or a spammer, they get disappeared without comment. ---

Notices are usually posted in this forum unless it’s a sock/troll and then they are just silently given the banhammer. ---

That’s because there are only a handful of bannings of established posters each year, and these are the only ones that are announced. We don’t announce bannings of spammers, socks, and short-term trolls. These (especially spammers) are the vast majority of bannings. If you want to find announcements of bannings, you can do a search for “banned” in thread titles in ATMB. ---

If you wanted to look back further for other recent bannings, you’d have to select a longer “From The” time-frame. ---

Generally I (one of the masses) find out when I notice BANNED under some posters name…generally some poster who I’m militantly unsurprised to see that tag under their name for. 😛 I think the only time I noticed someone get banned in this forum was when DTC got banned…I saw the thread pop up here from the home page and was like ‘really??’ and came in here to check it out. Mind, I wasn’t particularly surprised he got banned, but it was still a bit of a shock to see a long time poster like that go down. ---

Not that hard: 1. Set the forum to show all threads from the beginning. 2. Use Pagination Firefox plug in to put all the pages into one long webpage. 3. Used Firefox search for the word ‘banned’ 4. Dragged the thread title from one FF window into the message box of a second window. Done.
