I have the movie. I will check tonight when I get home, and reply tomorrow unless we have both been sent to hell for our brutal, worthless hijack.
The numbers are, in fact, different in the movie and the book. I’m virtually certain Kubrick made the change simply because “six double five three two one” rolls off the tongue better than “double six double five three two one” (or any other variation in speaking “6655321”).
Well, my apologies for continuing this hijack of my own thread. I concede. There is enough evidence on the internet. Plenty have discussed that Kubrick did in fact change it. Don’t know why. I feel that double six double five three two one sounds better.
