How do Vegas churches handle getting casino chips in collection plates?

Ithica, NY does it.

Just to keep things in perspective: If a casino wanted to make real money, it could refuse to cash out any chips whatsoever.

I suppose that might run afoul of a law here and there.

FACT:

I have used the chips from various LV Strip casinos at other LV Strip casinos. Luxor at Monte Carlo. Excalibur at New York, New York.

So there is clearly some wrong information here, unless I just got lucky dozens of times.

I have cashed chips from one casino at a different casino, but it’s been a couple of years since I’ve actually done it. The rules may have changed.

The casino I cashed them at had a book with the current configurations of all the chips (I assume, I was glancing over the book upside down) from other casinos. It took the lady just a minute to confirm the markings on the chips, and she gave them a once over. She didn’t weigh them or anything that thorough AFAIK.

Also, this was probably less than $100 worth of chips or I would have most likely cashed out at the original casino.

There is a difference between cashing out chips from another casino at the cage, and using the chips at the tables. Cashing out isn’t such a big deal. Using the chips would be; they cause visual issues, etc.

Yup.

When I’ve used chips at other casino’s tables, they just put the chips into the drop box as if they’re cash and issue me some new chips when I sit down.

good evening friends,

it has been many years since my vegas trip, but i once bought a carton of cigarettes and a tank of gas at a convienience store with a hand full of five dollar chips from ceasar’s palace.

Perfectly legal of course. The owner just had to be willing to take it and go to the right place to cash them in so that he could get it into his bank.
