I’ve used the hyperlink doo-hicky to link to news articles, but it just comes up as a link. I’ve noticed other posters posting to news articles and it comes up in a box in the thread, with the headline and first paragraph.

How do you do that?

Just paste the link on a line by itself, like this:

> [@I love the OneBox feature!](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/i-love-the-onebox-feature/912299):
>
> Just put a URL by itself on a line, and it automatically creates a box with the relevant info and image. You can even put YouTube videos inline in a post. Quick, easy, and a huge improvement in the quality of posts! News articles: Wikipedia: YouTube: [[Friday Afternoons (Cuckoo) - Benjamin Britten.] ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FTMLWuY36KQ) Works great! grinning

Yep, just post the bare naked URL alone on its own line.

Note that the target webpage must contain [OpenGraph](https://ogp.me/) or [oEmbed](https://oembed.com/) HTML tags for this to work, but luckily that’s fairly common on the open web these days 🙏
