How do you make turkey gravy?

Since Mom ran out of butter this year, I did it with turkey fat for the first time, and it was really good. She’d made giblet broth earlier in the day too, so I used that. I didn’t know she didn’t mean for me to use it all, but it was really good gravy.

I saw that cup of flour/water slurry sitting on her counter because she thought it would be easier, and bugged her until she let me make it the right way. We go through this every year, and every year she acknowledges that my way is better.
