You’re a girl and she’s a girl, I see little problem with (assuming you have a reasonable working relationship) taking her aside and mentioning it (explaining that others have said things and you thought she should know). If you don’t have a close enough relationship and it is truly bothering you, ask her supervisor to talk to her. ---

Thank you all for your helpful suggestions! as for the questions of ‘is it really effecting me’ ‘just ignore it’ and such, yes it effects all in the work place. her booty hanging out may reflect on the whole work team, esspecially if she is the first person guests see. i mean really, would you be able to ignore something like that which happens daily? but thank you all again for your help! ---

Last year I quietly and privately asked an instructor in our preventive sports club what the sad occasion was, and when she asked why mentioned that her shorts were at half mast. She did not take it amiss. ---

It affects the business, not you. It’s the manager’s job to watch out for the business. If you think the manager isn’t aware, bring it to their attention. But you bringing it up won’t do any good: if it’s like this every day, she already knows and she thinks it looks cute/hot. If you tell her it looks trashy, she will just think you don’t know what you are talking about, because she knows it’s cute/hot. The only other possibility is that she has gained a lot of weight and is in terrible denial that her pants don’t fit any more. But if that’s the case she won’t want to hear it, and will decide it was just that day/those pants. ---

You should be straightforward: Sneak onto another coworker’s computer, and send her an email from there. Seriously, take it to management that you’ve noticed this for a while and you don’t like looking at it and \. Then wash your hands of the matter and try not to look. ---

Out of curiosity, is she showing bum by way of dressing trashy or dressing slovenly? If it’s the former, it’s a (relatively) easy answer; just approach it from a dress code angle. Need to be a little less concealing, etc. If it’s the latter…that’s tougher. I’ve had a coworker in that realm, and I couldn’t even fathom how to deal with it without a hassle. The only way to avoid hurt feelings would be to be very nonspecific and go from a “trying to present a professional appearance” angle, but it might fall on deaf ears. The only way to confidently address it is to be straight and direct about the specific complaint – and that’s probably going to involve hurt feelings and resentment. Or somehow hire a few twelve year old boys to pass by her in public and holler at her about it. ---

I once had a supervisor who had to address this same issue. He said at that meeting, “If I can see up it, down it or through it. Don’t wear it.” ---

I had a coworker who sat in front of me who always showed off the top of her ass. My approach was to say “I can see your asscrack,” which she denied despite the daily evidence. She wore hipster jeans, and eventually, when she was in my bed, I saw that she wore low-rise panties, hence the near-permanent display. ---

I would take her aside and tell a white lie to soften the blow: “Hey, I wanted to let you know that your pants are really showing a lot of your backside. I know how it is with some pants. Depending on the cut I have to be careful, too. Anyway, wanted to let you know before someone complains to the boss.” ---
