Interestingly, to an Englishman, the immediate response is “Mash and gravy? With _fried_ chicken? Are you _ **mental** _?!” After some consideration, he goes on to add “Well…what do you expect from someone who serves apple pie without custard? The _correct_ answer is _roast_ chicken, _roast_ potatoes, gravy. Honestly, bloody colonials…” ---

Fried. But either works for me. I am to chicken what Forrest Gump’s buddy was to shrimp. Fried potatoes. Microwave until done, then cut and fry with margarine, onions, butter, salt, and pepper. Boiled corn on the cob with lots of butter. Apple pie with vanilla ice cream on the side. You can have apple pie, French vanilla ice cream or double up with a la mode. Diet Coke. ---

Fried Mashed (especially if there’s gravy on offer) On the cob, boiled, with butter and salt Depends on the pie - I like my apple pie more tart than average, so if this is one of those sickly sweet offerings that most stores sell I’ll take a little ice cream; otherwise, pie please sans mode. Beer - that porter you mentioned sounds quite nice, but Grolsch or Becks will do. Any attempt to serve me any form of Budweiser will be considered a personal insult. ---
