I have a woman that comes by alternate Tuesdays, Fridays, and Holidays specifically to wash my feet. ---

I stand on one foot and raise the other. Sometimes i lean against the wall of the shower for stability. My feet don’t smell, but they do tend to accrue a lot of loose flakes of dead skin and i like to scrape it off from time to time. Neither do my husband’s, nor my daughter’s. I’m sure my husband never washes his feet beyond the rinsing they get from his washing the rest of his body. God knows he never bothers to cut his toenails. My son’s feet used to stink so much that we tried all sorts of things to reduce the stench, including rinsing them with yogurt in an attempt to promote less-stinky bacteria there. ---

I do it at the very end, with the shower off, using the water from the tub faucet. Water source is closer to the feet and the higher water volume helps with exfoliation. Also gives the rest of me a minute to drip dry a little. ---

Thankfully I can still elevate each foot in turn for a soapy scrub. On the other hand, there’s an unreachable area on my back that hasn’t had similar treatment for decades. \*is there a correlation between Dopers peeing in the shower and not washing their feet? 😱 ---

I do not wash my feet and I don’t pee in the shower. And I too have an area on my back that hasn’t been washed in years. I’m hoping the shampoo dripping down my back is kind of taking care of that. And don’t tell me to get a back scrubber. They get gross and mildewy. ---

I don’t have any set routine with my feet, really. It really depends on how long I’m in the shower. The longer I’m in there, the more I assume they get clean. If they’re dirty on the bottom, and that gets clean, then I expect the tops to be clean, too. When I do wash my feet, I don’t have a set way. Sometimes I feel limber enough to just raise up my foot and clean it. Sometimes I prop it up on something in shower. I have a chair in there I got when I was having balance issues, and I may use it as a prop. I don’t tend to wash my feet sitting in it as there’s not a lot of room to maneuver. I have fortunately never felt that I had to hop to keep my balance. I have, however, cleaned the bottom and felt way too slippery to wash the other foot for a bit. In that case, I get it rinsed off first. ---

I just stand on one foot. If I get too vigorous in scrubbing I might brace my elbow against the wall to stop swaying. No hopping involved, though. ---

I rarely specifically wash my feet in the shower, unless it’s a sandals-on-a-summer-day scenario, then I’ll use a bench. But at least a couple days a week I take a bath instead, and I always wash them then. My wife is not at all shy about pointing out hygiene issues, and this has never come up. ---

Not really, but my fingers are flexing and moving all day unlike my toes which don’t move around a lot. I’m guessing that this is the reason that dead skin cells accumulate between your toes and not between your fingers. I use a brush that is suction cupped to the tub. It gets between the toes and massages them as well. ---

Never wash my feet. They soak in soapy water as the suds trickle down from the rest of me. The soles get scrubbed from my moving on the shower floor. The tops just get the soapy water rinse. ---

Every time i use the toilet. Before i eat. Before i prepare food. If I’m handling anything else delicate. And i use my hand to wash everything else, so they tend to get clean when i shower. In particular, nothing cleans under my fingernails as well as washing my hair does. ---

I never bend down and scrub my feet, they just get washed by the water. And not only do I have several friends who wouldn’t be afraid to tell me (because I have blunt friends and they also know that I’m the sort of person who I wouldn’t be offended - I’d rather know), I had an ex who would most _definitely_ have told me if she’d ever sensed anything off. And she had an amazing sense of smell. ---
