How Does Astrology Work?

Oops, sorry. I should point out that that’s the intrisic reason within astrology that why it doesn’t work. Speak in their own terms, as it were. Clearly, there are lots of scientific reasons why it doesn’t.

Urban Ranger, modern astrologers have any number of responses to that softball that you shouldn’t even bother making it. I’ve read endless debates on tropical astrology vs. sidereal astrology. A quick google on those two terms will undoubtedly disclose endless discussion on the point.

Astrology “works” the same way any other fortunetelling method “works” – or, for that matter, the same way psychological counseling works.

Responses are not the same as well thoughout replies backed by evidence.

I think KellyM said it best with this:

The bolding is mine for emphasis. Like most divinitory tools in practice, they don’t tell the future but just give a basis for self-reflection.

Of course not, but for the (non-objective) true believers, any response that allows them to cling to their philosophy, however inadequate and ridiculous it might seem to a rational observer, will be wielded like one of Euclid’s axioms.

Let’s not go there.

How so?

Turnabout is fair play. Please do so without referring to the epistemology of revelation, that is not the way the universe operates.

Couldn’t you make that your sig?
