I was left unsupervised in a guidance counselor’s office in high school (senior year, IIRC) with my file. It was thinner than I would have thought, but did indeed have stuff from elementary school that I would very much like to have made disappear. Since she had already reviewed it and probably would again, though, I knew they couldn’t disappear unnoticed. ---

(Bolding mine) There was a great story line on the show, _Homicide: Life on the Street_ where Detective John Munch was blowing on and on about how he protested the Vietnam war and how the FBI had so much stuff on him. He filed a Freedom of Information Act request for the information and, when he picked it up, it was a single page in an envelope. He said something like, “Where’s the rest of it?” As for me, I got suspended for three days in 7th grade for writing, “You suck donkey dicks” on a guy’s shirt in pen. It was HIS catchphrase, and he used it all the time. (By the way, Mark Ritter, I’m sorry about that.) The worst part was facing my mom, who asked me if I knew what I had written. Of course, I said I didn’t, so when she explained to me what a “dick” was, I had to act all in shock and immediately became very contrite. (By the way, Mom, I’m sorry about that … and all the other times I lied as a kid.) ---

I suspect mine is quite clean. I was a very good student and never caused obvious trouble in class, gym or playgrounds. I was however involved in a larger number of minor pranks. (For example, rearranging the desks in the room of the English teacher – the only one who insisted on assigned seats for seniors. It was difficult to sit in assigned seats when they were in 4 rows of 5 rather than vice versa. Hacking the electronic football scoreboard. Etc.) I was never caught or at least never confronted.
