How effective are military arms/ammunition against dangerous animals? (possible SPOILERS)

My friend has the same problem with them in Texas. Your probably not doing it right. What you do is set traps for them and then its an easy shot between the eyes.

I have shot a wild board with a .223
Might as well have given it a kiss.

Sure, but there’s a big difference between a cow or bull that’s docile and unsuspecting and you can take your time to make an aimed shot and one that’s on a crazed rampage, in the latter if you hit it between the eyes its a lot more likely to be a lucky shot than anything intentional.

That reminds me of the scene described by Hunter S. Thompson* where he describes accidentally driving into a herd of sheep, which he describes as a soft and fluffy impact like driving into pillows, anyone who has actually hit a sheep while driving will know it’ll do a number on your car. To say nothing of ruining the sheep’s day.

*though a google search isn’t bringing up this incident, and yes I know he isn’t meant to be taken literally as an author

:smack:
Wild Boar. Wild Board went down easily.
