Jesse and James seem to be of similar ages; Jesse was on the hook (with pressure from his wealthy family) to get married several years before the events of Diamond and Peal. They get jobs, earn money, and can afford to pay for elaborate (if ultimately ineffectual) giant mechanical devices. But notwithstanding my belief that she’s sexually mature, I don’t find her in any way sexually appealing. I’m hard pressed to name a single Pokemon anime character I thought was hot… maybe Pike Queen Lucy or Sinnoh Champion Cynthia, but even then, the appeal is more theoretical than actual (i.e., “I can see why you think she’s hot, but…”) ---
