When I poll watched it was to see who on my side hadn’t voted yet and then to give them a call to remind them of the election.
Now that I am an election inspector (poll worker) I resent being call lazy. We must get to our election district by 5 AM which, for me, means getting up at 4:15 AM. The polls are scheduled to close at 9 PM, but for the general election will likely remain open until around 9:30 or 9:45. In 2014 it was 9:45 as we had a line out the door at 9.
From the time we shut down it takes about 30 - 45 minutes to write final reports and pack up everything. So 5 AM to 9:30 PM on a quick primary day and 5 AM to 10:30 PM general election day.
If we look sleepy it’s because all of us are over 65 years old and all of us got up so early.
For that 16.5 hour day I get $206.25.
And speaking of lazy, what about voters? Only 10% came out for the Congressional primary and 30% of Democrats and 20% of Republicans for the presidential primary. And, no doubt, we’ll get 60%, or fewer, on general election day. Talk about lazy.
Maybe, just MAYBE, he’s not saying it to accuse others. Instead he’s saying it to BRAG about what he plans to do! HAS ANYONE THOUGHT ABOUT THAT! :D:D:D
