Wow, this is wild… According to **Idlewild’s** awesome site, I live 38 miles from where I was born. Make that 38 miles west. I spent most of my childhood living 38 miles **east** of where I was born. There has to be something to that. Or maybe not. ---

Currently, 135.86 miles, using MapQuest driving directions. My previous four residences was 110.31 miles, 113.82 miles, 3.06 miles, and 61.71 miles, in reverse temporal order. ---

I live about 2 kilometers, or 1.25 miles, from where I was born. That’s as the roads go, as the crow flies would shave a little off that. I work right across the street from the hospital I was born in. ---

Spent the first 18 years ~5 miles from the hospital were I was born. Currently I’m about 195-200 miles from there. Compared to some of the other Dopers who have posted, I’m still in the parking lot of the hospital. ☹ I have been further away than this. Stationed for two years in Germany outside Oberuesal(sp?) in the Taunus(sp) mountains, near Frankfurt. Sure do miss all that good beer. ---

Unfortunately **Idlewild** ’s site doesn’t have my towns. According to my own software I am 3105nm from birth town (Palmerston North, NZ) to current dwelling (Broome Australia). ---
