# How far back do the Board archives go?

How far back do the Board archives go? I just ran a search for a GD thread I started about two years ago – “Should the United States Senate be abolished?” – and I tried several different search strategies and couldn’t find it. Not the first time that’s happened, either.

They go all the way back to the beginning, as far as I know.

That’s exactly what I did, but it didn’t come up. I also searched for GD threads with “Senate” in the title and that didn’t turn it up either. How come it works for you but not for me?

The way I found it was by going to the advanced search page, and then searching on posts by user **BrainGlutton** from a year ago and older.
