A 15 minute walk gets me to two places I can buy a bag o’milk. (4L or ~1 gallon) ---

Approximately 5 blocks, or a 7 minute walk to the nearest gas station. About a mile and a half to the nearest grocery store. ---

About a 90 second walk to the corner store (where I avoid the dairy as a rule), or about a five minute walk to a supermarket. ---

1 km, or about 10 minutes walking, to the nearest WalMart Super Center. I think they might have milk there. ---

Somewhere between 4 and 6 blocks (it depends on the route) to a major grocery store. But there are hills. And carrying a gallon home over hills is heavy. ---

1000 feet, give or take, to the nearest Walgreens. 500 feet to the skeevy convenience store where the scary people congregate, so I don’t go there ever. 1.1 miles (walking, a little more driving due to my one-way street) to the nearest place I know of to get organic milk (Target), which tastes much better to me and is my usual preference. ---

From work, about two blocks. From home, a bit over four miles. But the neighbor’s cows were right close to the fence this morning… (ever tried to milk a beef cow that hasn’t been handled since branding?) ---

**If** the gas station sells it (I’ve never checked) five miles. The nearest grocery stores are nine miles east and west of here. ---

out the door turn starboard, half a block and across the street to the 24 hr store/gas station. out the door turn port, block and a half to the corner store open 7am-7pm (bus stop to get on the bus). another block to the corner store open 'till 10pm (the bus stop to get off the bus). ---

About .3 of a mile. We usually shop at a nicer store that’s farther away, however. ---

In an emergency, I think the gas station (7 miles, give or take) has half-gallons, but I think they cost somewhere between $5 and $400. For an actual store with groceries, 12.5 miles is the closest option (Wal-Mart) or 13 miles (Wal-Mart). Yes, we live right in the middle of the two, I checked the actual miles to see if it is worth it to drive to the one (12.5 miles) that has the worst, most hateful employees on the planet or not. It’s not. ---

Just under 1000km, it looks like. 😛 OTOH, if 1,2 or 4 litres 'll do me, it’s 3 blocks to the corner store I never frequent, or 1.5km to a small grocery store that I prefer. 😃 ---

1 mile to the tiny local market. About 3 miles to a full sized and less expensive supermarket. But the fact that the 1 miles isn’t all that walkable, compared to what I was used to before my most recent move, it seems farther. ---

2 blocks, or about 700 feet according to my reading; that’s the local grocery store. There’s a store next to it that’ll sell me a gallon of milk as well. ---

These days it’s about a 3 minute walk to Long’s or a 5.5 minute walk to the Lucky store. It used to be about, oh 50 steps from the back door to the milking barn and the big vat o’ moo juice (whole milk, refrigerated and gently stirred to prevent the cream from solidifying before the tanker got there to pick it up). Sigh. I miss the ranch.
