I was born in a modest village in western New York, now I live in a small town in southern Maine. By the fastest road route: 449 miles (7 hours, 3 minutes). By the shortest road route: 373 miles (7 hours, 15 minutes). As the crow flies: 317 miles. ---

About 360 miles from where I am in RI to Washington DC, not far at all, and I lived closer to DC most of my life. I did live in SOCAL for a year which helps increase my lifetime average distance a little bit. ---

Driving distance from the building that used to be Lawrence Hospital (now a county government office building) in Mooresville, NC to my house is 2669 miles, according to Google Maps. Measuring the great circle distance between those two points using Google Map’s measuring tool, I get 2215 miles. ---
