299.37 miles (5 hours 11 minutes) from my current address in Kansas City MO to the only hospital address I could find in Greensburg KS. Not sure it’s the exact one where I was born. ---

Using [this nifty site](http://www.indo.com/distance/), the distance between where I was born - Castro Valley, California, United States - and where I live now - Nottingham, England, United Kingdom - is as the crow flies: 5258 miles (8462 km) (4569 nautical miles) apart. Initial heading from Castro Valley to Nottingham: north-northeast (32.2 degrees) Initial heading from Nottingham to Castro Valley: northwest (315.6 degrees) However, I think the fly miles are more… 🙂 ---

According to Mapquest, it’s 595 miles and 9 hours, 53 minutes from here to the hospital where I was born. I’m happy calling it 600 miles and 10 hours (unless I take the route they suggest–with all the wrecks and construction on 40, it tends to turn into 11 or 12 hours.) ---

55 miles or there abouts. I had to calculate it to the town since the hospital hasn’t existed for more than 20 years, and I have no idea what part of town it was in. I find it odd, however, that the farthest I’ve lived from that town was while living in the same state as the former hospital. ---
