# How far do you typically walk in a day?

What’s your estimate for how far you normally walk in a day? I mean going to a destination, not the total of how far you walk when wandering about the office or anything like that. And of course walking for the sake of walking counts, too.

My walking comes from going to and from class every day. I think it’s usually about 1.5 to 2 miles in a day (2.4 to 3.2 kilometers, for you metric types). Some days while working over the summer (not at school) I walked a fair amount- I think the most in one day was around 7 miles, mapping storm sewer features with GPS.

I usually walk to and from work at least a couple of days a week. It’s a round trip of about 8.5 km. Other days I go walking at nights, just before bed. My standard route is about 7 km.
