I’d spell it klick. Here in Aus., “k” is common way to refer to a kilometre.

And just in case someone doesn’t know how long a kilometer is, it’s a thousand meters (the name should give that away), or 5/8 of a mile.

I always thought it was one of those fuzzy measurements, like a heap, a moment, a butt load, a handfull, or a whole lotta. I know I have heard it used that way.
