About 2 blocks. But it helps in shortening a commute that I was the one who chose the office location and pays the rent. ---

4.5 miles, on the other side of the city. I cycle it when it’s not raining - cycling takes less time than driving (my record is 16 minutes whereas the car tends to take up to 30 minutes when the schools are not on vacation). ---

A couple of kms I think. Dropping my son off at daycare and biking to work takes me 15-20 mins. ---

About ten miles one way, takes about 20 minutes on a good traffic day, 30 if heavy. ---

1.8 miles - Takes less than 10 minutes by bike. I like the short distance in the morning, as it’s good to zip into work in an instant. Coming home I prefer a more substantial ride, so will take a circuitous route home for about an hour or so if I have time. ---

I live about a five minute walk from my classroom. The downside is I see my students (and they see me!) every time I leave the house. ---

Mine isn’t terrible, but it’s longer than I’d like, since the commute is far and away my least favorite part of the day. Thank you, MBTA, for ensuring that most of my workdays start with anxiety and end with anger! Most days it’s a ten - fifteen minute walk to the train station, followed by a 20 - 25 minute orange line train ride, followed by a ten - fifteen minute walk to the office. If the weather is bad, I might jump on the bus instead of walking. If the weather is REALLY bad, I can switch over to the green line, which is slower, but has a stop directly in front of my office. It’s not too bad in the morning, but is a nightmare at night, since by the time I make it back to the orange line, it’s so crowded I can easily watch three trains come and go before there’s one I can squeeze onto. ---

18 kilometers, around 11 miles. I go by public transit, so it’s around 3/4 of an hour. (Walk partway back most days, which means an hour’s trip.) ---

It’s 18.5 miles, which I just had to look up on google maps. I live in NYC, so I think of distance in terms of time. It’s about 60 minutes door to door during rush hour (the trains run express, so _allegedly_ faster), and an hour and 15 minutes at other times. ---

3 miles. On public transport it takes about 40 minutes so I walk instead - saves money and only takes about an hour. ---

22.5 miles each way. I work early so driving time is about 25 minutes coming in and 35 going back. An hour later and those times could double. ---

I only go about 10 miles, but it takes me 20 minutes. I hate city streets and commutes. But if I take the highway, I go waaaayyyy out of the way, it is about 20 miles and takes about the same amount of time. I can’t win. ---

My commute is about 43 miles each way. Driving time in the mornings can vary from 45 to 55 minutes due to road construction and farm equipment in the road. The drive home is usually pretty quick; I travel through a string of small towns along an old highway, so the only thing I have to worry about is the occasional homecoming parade. ---

My commute is just about 12 miles, mostly on the freeway. Usually less than a 20-minute drive either way. ---
