I find my self unable to answer any of the questions, they don’t have enough options for answers and the questions don’t have enough detail. What does that make me? I want to answer everything as “that depends . . .”. ---

Too many people would select it because the answers depend on things and they wouldn’t get an assessment. Though this in particular is obviously a silly quiz not to be taken seriously, in more serious multiple choice evaluations, it’s been found that forcing people to select an answer tends to lead to **relatively** accurate assessments that roughly match what they would be assessed as if they were to give their nuanced position (assuming the test is well designed of course). ---

2.7, a liberal airhead. Fits well enough. And I feel that “it depends” is the entire point of the gradations of agreement or disagreement. If I can’t think of any counter, I pick the most severe option. If I can think of one or two, I go with the next. If I’m pretty balanced, I pick one of the other two, going with my instinct on whether I thought the question sounded like something I could or could not disagree with. ---

Speaking as a 2.5 liberal airhead this is a crappy test, largely because of its relatively archaic time of origin. But OTOH, yes, how about disagreeing by bearing in mind the possibility of doing it in self defense, or because your brother is the goddamn Unabomber? And even that fails to tell us much about someone’s inclinations, either. Heck, “born with an urge to jump from high places” explains to me recreational bungee-jumpers, skydivers and BASE jumpers. From the test explanation that makes this be one of the questions that aim to reflect cosmic determinism or stereotypy, it seems the authors position is that the “fascist” POV of “just born that way” explains away the jumper as just a mental defective so there’s no need to expend much resources in figuring what’s their problem, and all the preventive care they need is to be put away somewhere they can’t hurt themselves. ---
