I think most families around here would be thrilled with homemade goodies! But I get so many lil’ ghosties and witches to make enough brownies or popcorn balls to go around. I’d love it if my kids got more homemade things and fewer tootsie rolls (no one likes those anyway).

Like you wouldn’t be able to tell there’s a razor blade in an apple. I think the biggest problem might be allergies, but then, it’s not like every kid has allergies. You could keep separate candy for them.

The ONLY ones I can see tampering with something would be some asshole teenager who puts laxatives in some cookies, and even then I think that’s extremely unlikely.
Besides, I’m guessing most kids would rather have candy than apples. Who wants an apple on Halloween? (Waits for all the “I LOVE apples!”)

This is the Dope. Where everyone gives out and loves getting home made treats from strangers and kids like fruit more than candy. Get with the program.

When I was a kid, I liked getting popcorn balls because they were huge (compared to the average piece of candy)! An apple would be a slap in the face, though.

Popcorn balls, yes. Apples, no. Apples suck. (Even if they’re candy apples. After you eat the outside, you still just have an apple.)

Whatever you do, though, do NOT give out those “Little Hug” drinks. They’re cool and all, but one year I had one in my bag and a lollipop stick poked the top open and it spilled all through my bag. ☹

It must suck to never eat food prepared by someone else.

My cousin works in an envelope factory. As a result, she never licks envelopes anymore, but wets them with a cloth.
