I think the monitor has got a lot to do with it. I’ve got mine set up on ‘true color’ 32 bit with fairly hefty resolution. I’ve also learned that I need to work in a well lit area with a good light source on the desk - because any other setup gives me a blinding headache (I said my eyes weren’t good). I’d be interested in the change in people’s scores if they swap from a laptop to a well set up desk monitor. ---

The color-blind wifey got a score of 162. She’s 33 as well. I’ve always been curious as to quantifying to what degree our vision was different, and this will definitely help. Now to play around a bit at the mis-matches that are required to score a 162… ---

I scored a 12 on my laptop, which is about 5 years old, and while it’s a decent screen for a laptop, I know it isn’t prefect. On a much newer Dell flat screen monitor at home, I scored 0. The monitor made a huge difference. I’m 52, male. ---

My first time (an 8) was on my macbook pro that is only a few months old, but in a poorly-lit cafeteria. I did it again later at my desk on the same computer with better lighting and got a 0. ---

I scored a 19. I’m satisfied with that, I guess. I did it on my year old lap top in a fairly dimly lit room. If I’m get around to it, I’ll try again on the desktop in the kitchen. BTW, I’m 39 and female. ---

So are men or women better at judging color? I know that men are more prone to color blindness. I guess that I don’t have that. ---

I got a 10–pretty good, I think, considering that tilting my laptop screen changed the colors. I had the most trouble with blues and purples. Interesting test–I love colors, but I tend to prefer ones that are BRIGHTER. Female, 20. ---

I got a 22 but I didn’t try very hard. I tried to move my monitor up and down to see it better but it was hurting my eyes so I didn’t spend that much time on it. ---

My score: 105, with a couple of breaks to rest my eyes and a headache to match Gender: Female Age range: 20-29 Best score for your gender and age range: 0 Highest score for your gender and age range: 1409 I tried really hard on this, and it looks like I’ve done pretty badly compared to everyone. That’s okay, I’ve always known my color vision wasn’t stellar. It’s not that I’m colorblind, I just have really bad color vision. ---

score 33 female - 53 I have a lot of eye trouble and colours are slowly disappearig. I had this test done at U of Toronto about 30 years ago (not on computer) and flunked the centre blue/green then. Now my red/yellow is lousy too… but I expected to do much worse so I’m happy. ---

Male, 31. Just tried again at home to see if the monitor makes a difference. Found it a little more tricky than at work, but still scored a zero. 🙂 Again, the gradients just look “right” and if any two squares are swapped over, they stand out quite vividly.
