it is possible that once he had the IP information, he found a security flaw, entered your system, and if any file on your computer had this information contained within it, he go it.

If you have your own domain name registered it is very easy to obtain the registration details, which often include all the above, from the IP number.

It’s also possible (without knowing the details of the missing OP) that the person in question (who is probably _not_ a hacker, by the way) doesn’t know any of those details, and is just bluffing. That is, the OP may have gotten an e-mail saying something like “We’ve already determined your address and phone number. Send us money or we’ll erase all of your records.”, without the e-mail actually giving any of that information.

OK I ran into this girl on an online gaming network. The only things of mine she had access to are my IP, and a website I have (yes with a registered ($$) domain name). A couple hours after meeting her she told me my name, address, phone number and an old email address that I no longer use except for the purpose of online registration (since I dont want their junk mail sent to my real address). From what I have read from you people it seems that the most likely explanation is that she accessed the information from my registered domain name.
_BTW, does anyone know exactly how she accessed that info, I would like to know given that its not illegal or anything._
The other option is that she got “into” my computer. However, had she been able to hack into my computer i truly cant imagine where she could possibly find that information other than simply my name–unless it was stashed in some cache file from some online transaction I made.

My favorite is [www.betterwhois.com](http://www.betterwhois.com) . Domains listed with certain registrars will only display name of the registrar, in which case you go to that registrars site and look up the domain.
Domain registration info is public by law.
