# How hard would it be to stab yourself to death?

Just found this thread because I thought it might have been about [this case in San Francisco](http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/24327162/) which I read about this morning:

So, to answer the OP, at least the SFPD think it’s plausible, even if the French Authorities have their doubts.

I am only asking this question, because my partner of 24 years took his own life by stabbing himself 7 times. Not in the heart but in the lower and upper abdomen. It seems like such a violent act to me, for a man that was so non violent. I guess I am just trying to understand something, that maybe has no explanation . I don’t know.
