Heh. My first thought upon reading the thread title was “Is it okay if we said it hasn’t?” I didn’t like Sideways or Ghostworld either, but I’d love to see parallels drawn between them and Julien Donkey Boy.

Dogme is an ambitious idea, but all the rules make it into the cinimatic equivilent of a sestina.

I think the fact that all the Dogme films I’ve heard of include “confessions” about how they broke the rules say more to me about the manifesto than the rules themselves. *Has *there ever been a pure (no rule-breaking) Dogme film?
