Basic health insurance is taken out with private companies, but it’s legally mandatory, and private insurance companies have no choice but to offer packages with certain basic features. Sound familiar? This has many of the same economic effects as single payer insurance, in terms of avoiding the more obvious market failures. Long term care is actually government provided. In a side note, the Dutch word for “care” is “Zorg,” which is wonderful. ---

And sure, there’s a couple of tests, but they’re 10 minute tests, and after taking them once you know where the problem areas are and can focus on just those questions. I’m pretty sure a good dog trainer could train a dog to answer some of those questions–it shouldn’t be that hard to prep a president to score 4 points higher. ---

Looks to me like Trump’s running scared. Six months ago, he was interjecting god into his every public statement. Well, let’s see… Today is the first anniversary of his inauguration. Dow is up 31%. Jobs are up. Unemployment is down. Taxes are being lowered. Action is being taken against illegal aliens (although not as fast as I would like). And liberals are still howling, whining and bitching about him being in office. Hasn’t pissed me off one single bit. ---
