Let’s not forget that Ivanka, probably the #2 person in the entire world that he cares about (obviously pretty far back from #1, which is Trump himself) is Jewish. So is Michael Cohen. So was Roy Cohn, who was influential in Trump’s early business rise. So are, I’m sure, many of his other “friends”/business associates. There are definitely strong strands of anti-Semitism on the fringes of the Republican party, and Trump’s feeble response to the Charlottesville protest was an embarrassment. But I think that this may be the rare case where Trump actually isn’t guilty. (In an odd sense, the fact that he’s such a self-centered arrogant narcissist may actually work in his favor.
